Trauma and the Brain: The Development Impact of Trauma in Childhood

Location: Calvert County Public Schools, 1305 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick

Join Calvert County Public Schools for an outstanding workshop with Frank J. Kros, MSW, JD, Executive Vice President of TranZed.

Key discoveries in neuroscience have revealed a more comprehensive and sophisticated understanding of the impact of trauma on the developing brain. The body’s physiological response to stress impacts the brain at a highly vulnerable period in development. These alterations pave the way for “inward directed” problems, such as aggression. Understanding the specific consequences of trauma on the growing brain can significantly inform interventions and inspire new approaches for the focus and goal of treatment for trauma victims.

All participants will receive the book:

The Explosive Child: A New Approach For Understanding and Parenting Easily Frustrated, Chronically Inflexible Children by Dr. Ross Greene
